Talking Twins

If you haven't seen this video yet, prepare to laugh.  This is one of the silliest things I've seen and it's got me in stitches.
Have fun weekend, lovelies!

Royal Wedding

What a great day for a Royal Wedding.  I can't wait to see her dress!  Kate Middleton's style is incredible.  Are you watching?

House Numbers

I'm in the market for new house numbers.  Husband and I have done so much updating to our house, both inside and out, and I've been craving a fun new change to our house numbers.  There are so many cool options.  Love this pretty tile and these tiles.  And, wouldn't these numbers be awesome on a cleverly stained piece of wood (like yellow!)?  I may take inspiration from these for a fun backyard project...

New Obsession

My new obsession is the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.  After ending our subscription to HBO and being at the mercy of Netflix, I haven't been able to stay as up to date on True Blood as I'd like.  So I started reading the books and now I'm addicted.  Vampire sci-fi/trashy romance, these books are very entertaining.  :)

Not Lady Liberty?

Have you heard about the Statue of Liberty stamp debacle?  The US Postal Service printed these new stamps featuring our Lady Liberty, only it's not really her.  It's the statue from New York, New York in Las Vegas.  Kind of funny, don't you think?  You can read about it here.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, my lovelies.  I hope you have a glorious day with family and friends.  Husband and I will be spending much time with ours.  And, bonus: the weather turned out to be wonderful!  Perfect for planting some spring annuals.  Thankful for this wonderful life...

Plus, how Peeps are made.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!  Today I'm feeling appreciative for the rainy rainy weather we've had lately.  Soon the May flowers will be in full glorious bloom.  I thought I'd share three new earth-friendly goals that I'm setting for myself for the rest of this year in celebration of Earth Day.

1. Not keep the faucet running while I brush my teeth.
2. Keep my collapsible canvas bag with me all the time and use it at every store - not just the supermarket.
3. Do my best to eat local produce when possible - even if it is a little more expensive.
And a 4th to grow on: Ride the bus or my bike to work at least 2 days a week.

And a couple of quotes that I like:
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
-Kahlil Gibran

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
- Native American Proverb

Pancakes & Sausage, Oh My!

I recently saw a commercial for these Pancakes & Sausage on a stick - Chocolate Chip variety.  I have one word: Blech!  These look disgusting.  But, at the same time they make me laugh.  What a weird concept for breakfast food, people!  Check out Jimmy Dean's other odd varieties of breakfast foods.  I love that breakfast categories include "On-a-Stick" and "Mini."

Vintage Vacation

I love this photo of a young newlywed couple at the sea.  What a great shot of these two lovely things enjoying the salty European air.  Husband and I have a lot of trips planned over the next year and this one is inspiring me to make them as stylish as possible.  What travel plans are you making?

'L'

Last week the Boneyard Arts Festival took over C-U.  It was a lot of fun, especially seeing my capital 'L' hanging on the wall with all the other awesome letters.  My sweet husband surprised me and bought it!  All the money raised supports CUDO, a local design organization, and the Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation.  Good job, honey!

There were so many great pieces, but the capital 'Q' was my favorite.

Tina Fey, You're So Cool

Love this quote from Tina Fey.  She's seriously the coolest.

“What bothers me the most is when people say that Hillary [Clinton] is a bitch. Let me say something about that—yeah, she is! And so am I, and so is this one [points to Amy Poehler]. Bitches get stuff done…. Bitch is the new black!”—From Saturday Night Live

Super excited to read her new book.

Reachemol

Driving around town I'd been seeing these billboards for what appeared to be a new pharmaceutical product.  The ads all have the pharma looking logo, but weird tags lines like, "how else do you explain Justin Beiber?"  I finally googled it and love what I found!  Very clever.

Yoga Puppies... and Kittens, too

My yoga studio has a calendar called Yoga Puppies and it makes me smile every time I see it.  So much so that I decided to get one for myself.  And a Yoga Kittens one, too.  They're filled with the most darling puppies and kittens doing yoga poses (some rather challenging).  Cute and hilarious at the same time, I couldn't resist.

Go, Lola, go!

Gratitude

I woke up this morning feeling extremely grateful.  Grateful for my wonderful husband whom I'm head over heels for.  Grateful for my puppy who makes me laugh every day.  Grateful for my family who are always thinking of me.  Grateful for my friends who indulge me with fun lunchtime chats.  Grateful for the rain last night that gave me a delightful night's rest.  Grateful for the delicious raspberry jam that was the perfect compliment to the crunch peanut butter on my PBJ.  Grateful for my yellow flats that made my feet feel so stylish as I headed out to face the day.

Perfect Sunday

I've had the best day today with my guys.  Husband and I took Winston on a long walk on this stunningly beautiful Sunday afternoon.  Winston enjoyed romping around in the pond and running off some major puppy energy.  I'd take a little of this everyday...

Happy April Fool's Day

Love this joke this professor played on his students.  Creative and funny!  What's your favorite April Fool's Day prank?  I've always liked the rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer.
