Believe it or not, our dogs picked these costumes out themselves. Winston is a skeleton and Kia is a She-Devil. They love greeting all of the trick-or-treaters!
This time next year we will be dressing up our little one and I can't wait. How much fun that will be! I just love this little mouse & cheese costume.
More puppy pics after the jump.

Hello, August
I just flipped my desk calendar to August (a day late) and this adorable little guy greeted me. Tree pose is one of my favorites, especially extended. It's a great one midday at work to regroup and refocus your energy.
Happy August! And, happy birthday to my father-in-law, Tom! He's a swell guy.

Pictures
I have framed photos of my family and friends all over my office. Just looked over at these little beauties and had to smile. Such a great way to brighten up the work day. That's all.
Have a wonderful day!

The cutest pups
These two sweet faces kept me company this morning while I got ready for work. Aren't they just the cutest? They look like they're posing for some kind of brother sister doggy photo shoot and it makes me laugh.
Happy Monday!

Avery dances
My sweet little niece Avery danced up a storm on our recent family trip to St. Simon's Island. Check out that chicken wing! I think the `20's movie style suits her perfectly, don't you?
Vacation photos to come soon...
Have a super fun weekend!

Off and running
A little cuteness for your weekend...
It's been quite a busy week. I've been up to my eyeballs in web training classes all week long. I've learned a ton, but am definitely ready to take a break from staring at a computer screen.
This is a big weekend. I am running the Illinois Marathon with my "daddy daughter" relay team. Despite having done absolutely no training whatsoever, I'm pretty pumped for the race. Me, Craig, Tom, and Emily are going to tear it up. :) Then the fun part... celebrating! Hopefully the rain holds off for the race - mainly for Bob's sake while running the full marathon, but also for our friends' cookout afterward. And, to top off the weekend, Sunday I'll be doing my first maternity shoot. Yay!
I hope you have a swell weekend, too!
p.s. Like my new header?
p.p.s. In case you haven't seen them yet, check out my beautiful nieces in our recent photo shoot. Aren't they gorgeous?

Welcome home, Kia
Today our family is growing. The adorable, sweet, and lovable Kia is joining the Kacich family. This afternoon Bob and I will be headed to the Champaign County Humane Society to pick her up and bring her to her new home - and to meet her brother Winston (who is very excited for her arrival).
Since we lost our sweet Taz, we knew that we would eventually want to adopt another puppy to join our family. After our Sunday afternoon dog park excursion, Bob, Winston, and I decided to stop by the CCHS to take a peek at the dogs. From the moment we saw Kia she just melted our hearts. She gladly accepted treats with sweet little kisses and the loviest little face. We took her outside to get to know her and we were smitten. She impressed us with her ability to fetch, sit, and come; her sweet nature charmed us; and, just look at those ears!
As fate would have it, the behavior specialist was on duty and Winston was patiently waiting in the car. So, we were able to introduce Kia to Winston right then and there. They hit it off wonderfully. Although a little tired from his dog park high jinks, Winston managed to keep pace with Kia and they ran circles around the yard and just played and played. It was decided. Kia was coming home.
Inside, we filled out the adoption papers and the staff at the CCHS were so great. They all remembered Taz and were so supportive of us bringing Kia home. We're really grateful to them.
I'm so excited for Kia to come home today. What a great day!
p.s. We're participating in the Mutt Strut to raise money for the Champaign County Humane Society. Please considering donating to our team!

The fabulous Lily
Lily, one of my sweet little nieces, had her holiday concert last week. These events are so much fun and the kids are just darling to watch. Some are shouting "hi daddy" while others are tugging on their clothes and playing games with their friend standing right beside them. This one was no different and it was adorable.
Check out the little guy dancing in the background. Hilarious!

Welcome, Lindy Mary!
Yesterday our dear friends Katie and Cliff welcomed Lindy Mary, their new daughter, into the world. Isn't she just the cutest? Bob and I will be meeting her in person tonight and I can't wait. Congrats you guys!
And, Lindy will of course grow up to be a die hard Cardinals fan like her dad... I suppose we'll let that slide. :)

Memory #15: Winston
Picking out our first pet together was an exciting thing for me and husband. We knew that a litter of puppies was coming to the Humane Society and we wanted to rescue one. We met several, but little Winston stole our hearts. He was just a little wilder than his brothers and sisters and had a certain spunk that we thought we fit right into our family. We've had so much fun with him the past year and I just love him so much.

Yoga Puppies... and Kittens, too
My yoga studio has a calendar called Yoga Puppies and it makes me smile every time I see it. So much so that I decided to get one for myself. And a Yoga Kittens one, too. They're filled with the most darling puppies and kittens doing yoga poses (some rather challenging). Cute and hilarious at the same time, I couldn't resist.

Baby belly + fruit
The first one of my really close childhood friends is pregnant and I'm super excited for her. The other day we were talking about the baby's growth week by week and how its size corresponds to a piece of fruit. That made me hungry so we headed out for lunch.
I love how this woman documents her pregnancy by photographing her belly and a piece of fruit. Too cute. I believe I'll be following her lead with my own project when the time comes.

Capital 'L'

Isn't this beautiful?! Next weekend is the Boneyard Arts Festival and I'm excited to have a piece of my artwork on display for the first time. I will be designing the capital letter 'L' as part of a fundraiser for CUDO. As a typeface junkie, I'm very excited to be a part of this!
I've been searching for inspiration on the web and these two make me smile.

The Fabulous Lily is 4!
Yesterday we celebrated our niece Lily's birthday. I don't know about you, but to me this photo pretty much sums up what a 4th birthday should be. This sweet little love muffin is such a bundle of joy. She brings so much joy and laughter to everyone she meets. Thanks for letting us celebrate your day with you, Lil' Miss Lilybug!

All Stars
How cute is this video? I love the part when she dances on her tip toes in the pile of mud.
If you're like me (a Chuck Taylor devotee since the 6th grade) you can totally appreciate this. :)

It's Raining Cats
How adorably hilarious are these little guys? I find myself laughing out loud and wanting to eat them at the same time. You've got to see the rest - here. Too cute!
